The Editor’s Pick of this issue focuses on a non-standard numerical approach to solving a complex problem of flow in porous media. Other papers range from graph colouring problems to vibrational capture of an unbalanced rotor. All papers do use modern mathematical tools to study complex real word problems in contemporary engineering applications.
